No Screen Off is an Android app which prevents your smartphone from turning off the screen automatically while reading or working with apps like Chrome, etc. Stay with me!
During all these years of using a smartphone it have probably happened to you when your phone’s display kept turning off while you were reading an article on a website or long messages from your friends. It’s because of a specific time that has been set to 30 seconds by default. So if there’s no touch detected on screen for 30 seconds, the screen turns dark for a few seconds and then turns off to reduce battery drain.
Fortunately, most new smartphones have a new feature called Smart Stay which doesn’t let the screen turn off if it recognizes a face or eyes in front of the screen every 30 seconds before it turns dark. If these sensors are not embedded on your phone, instead of tapping the screen all the time or even increasing Screen On Time, you can benefit from relevant apps that have been created to solve this issue.
No Screen Off is an interesting app that creates a shortcut which disables Screen Off completely. If you activate it, your phone’s screen will never go dark or off while you’re using Internet browsers, Instagram or messengers. No Screen Off is easy to use and after running it, you just need to turn it on. And when you don`t need it anymore, tap the shortcut again to enable Screen Off.
Its widget is available, too what gives you access to this useful feature right from your home screen, so you don’t need to run No Screen Off app.

Please, note that after activating this feature, your phone will not be able to turn the screen off automatically and if for any reasons, you leave the phone without tapping the power button, your phone’s screen will remain on, what can cause fast battery drain. So, when you’re using this feature, we recommend you not to forget to turn it off after using.

This is an interesting app – I had no idea that there was a solution for this problem.
I have gotten used to wiggling my finger on the screen to prevent the phone from blanking out. This approach is much more sensible.
All I need now is an app to remind me to turn it back off again 🙂
Thanks for an interesting and informative article.
You’re welcome Derek and nice to see that it was useful for you )
Thank you for sharing this information about this app! You provided some great details here.
I have always been annoyed by the fact that when I am reading something my phone goes dark. Then I have to find where I left off at. I also always wondered if there was a way to prevent this from happening.
I will definitely be downloading this app to my phone! Thank you again for sharing this.
You’re welcome Makayla ) I’m glad to see that it was useful for you )
This is a nice simple app that I would find useful. I get frustrated constantly having to touch the screen on my iPhone to let it know I am still reading. Is there a similar app for the iPhone?
Hi David, personally I don’t know any related app for iPhone but here you can find how to take control of your iPhone screen auto-dim and set specific time for it. Hope it helps )
Best,
Ali
Okay so before I can install this app I 1st have to make some room as the storage is full ~ this may take some time. However what I already love is how simple it was to get it, as in; click your link and do it all from the computer, that is easier for me to navigate at present than my mobile. Then it’s a confirmation button to press on phone simple now for the difficult bit sorting out my storage lol
Nice Jacqui, I hope you’ll be satisfied completely after using it for several days. It can make reading process much more easier! )
I’m going to give this a go as currently I have to keep my finger on the screen to keep it awake ~ This is not idea for anyone, but even more difficult when you have mobility issues. I’ll come back in a few days to let you know how I get on with it 🙂
